A chance conversation between two old friends led to one of Shipston's favourite shops being saved. When Pat Righton decided to retire after 35 years as a butcher he suggested that enterprising local farming family - the Gardners should take it on.
Having opened in September 2005, the shop is now thriving. Still a traditional butchers shop but with a very local feel.
The Gardners who farm at Pillerton Priors and Tysoe in South Warwickshire now sell their own lamb and beef through the shop. They sell only free range pork from Buttercross, free range poultry and local game, locally grown vegetables and a range of goods from other local producers.
As well as fresh produce the shop also has a fabulous range of delicious cooked products all made on site.
